Ask one of our dentists how you can improve the health and beauty of your smile with cosmetic dentistry.
Teeth Whitening – In Chair Laser Whitening
As we age, the food and drink we consume, some medications, or smoking will stain and discolour our teeth. That’s why teeth whitening has become a very popular cosmetic dentistry procedure.
Naturally brighter, more beautiful white teeth can help enhance your smile and give you a great self-confidence boost. We use the latest in chair laser whitening treatment to give you spectacular results from the comfort of our modern practice.
Our expert team uses an advanced whitening gel, applied to your teeth and activated by a special blue light. It’s safe, effective and fast, lightening your teeth by up to eight shades in just over an hour.
Composite Fillings
A great alternative to old-fashioned, dark amalgam fillings, composite tooth-coloured fillings can help give you a beautiful new white smile.
Also known as “bonding”, composite fillings are now widely used to repair teeth with cavities, or to replace old defective fillings. A natural looking alternative, composite fillings are also extremely durable, able to withstand biting and chewing pressure, and highly resistant to fractures.
Tooth-coloured fillings can be used to repair chipped, broken, or discoloured teeth, to fill in gaps and to protect sensitive, exposed root surfaces caused by gum recession.
With composite fillings less of your natural tooth surface needs to be removed in preparation, resulting in smaller fillings.
Porcelain Crowns (Caps)
A crown is a tooth-coloured, custom-made covering that encases the entire tooth surface, restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown may be placed when damage or extensive dental work makes a traditional filling unusable. Made from high-grade dental ceramic, crowns are a strong, long-lasting solution for restoring a single tooth.
Crowns are ideal for teeth that have large, fractured or broken fillings or for those that are badly decayed. Though traditionally used for reconstructive dentistry, today crowns are increasingly used in cosmetic dental procedures for a smile that is straight, even and beautiful.
Porcelain Fixed Bridges
For replacing more than one missing tooth, bridges consist of several replacement teeth, held in place by crowns secured to sound teeth on either side of the space. Bridges provide durability, strength and a great appearance, being custom-made and placed to ensure a perfect fit and long-term durability.
Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and onlays are long-lasting, natural-looking alternatives to fillings. Made of composite resin, porcelain or gold, they are created in a dental laboratory and when placed by a dentist, are extremely difficult to distinguish from your natural teeth.
Inlays and onlays are usually best for the posterior chewing surfaces of teeth and are used to conservatively repair teeth that have large defective or unattractive fillings, or have been damaged by decay or trauma.
Unlike conventional fillings, which require large amounts of healthy tooth to be removed, inlays and onlays need only the damaged portion of the tooth to be removed.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are artificial roots that are surgically placed into the jaw to replace one or more missing teeth. Porcelain crowns, bridges, and dentures can be made specifically to fit and attach to implants, giving the appearance and feel of a natural tooth.
Dental implants can also be used as a very stable support for dentures. Implants are solid, durable, and are the most aesthetically pleasing tooth replacement option.
Porcelain Veneers
Veneers are thin custom-made, tooth-coloured shells that are bonded onto the fronts of teeth to create a beautiful individual smile. Porcelain veneers closely resemble tooth enamel, and are incredibly strong and durable, helping restore or camouflage damaged, discoloured, poorly shaped, or misaligned teeth.
Unlike crowns, veneers require only minimal tooth structure to be removed from the surface of the tooth, under local anaesthetic. Once each tooth has been prepared, an impression of the teeth is taken, from which we custom-make your veneers.
Porcelain veneers are a long-lasting alternative to other treatments such as teeth whitening, which although they cost less must be redone more often.
